Senate Joint Resolution 1, introduced in the United States Senate on 1/24/2005, without further change, does not interfere with Christian polygamy.

Here is the text of the amendment:

"Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman."

Notice that the amendment doesn't forbid concurrent unions between one man and one woman. The result of the Marriage Protection Amendment will be that homosexual "unions" will not be called marriage. In my book, that's good. My book by the way is the Bible. I hope it's yours.

The Marriage Protection Amendment does not regulate marriage, it prevents the redefinition of marriage and places the biblical definition of marriage into the constitution. The Bible does not give the government authority over marriage but defining marriage correctly in the constitution is certainly a good thing. Let's do it!

"In the universities they have ordained that no man shall look on the Scripture, until he be noselled [nursed or trained] in heathen learning eight or nine years, and armed with false principles; with which he is clean shut out of the understanding of the Scripture."
